Golf Course Superintendent
Golf course in Owensboro, Kentucky is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
The position will work closely with the Greens Committee, Golf Professional, and Board of Directors to ensure the course is maintained to the highest standards while remaining fiscally responsible.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of golf course maintenance and agronomic operations.
• Supervise and participate in the daily preparation and conditioning of playing surfaces.
• Implement and direct landscape design, vegetation management, and aesthetic improvement projects.
• Maintain irrigation system and other golf course equipment
• Maintain compliance with environmental, chemical, and safety regulations.
• Lead and develop grounds staff through recruitment, training, and supervision.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and capital improvement plans.
• Coordinate golf course maintenance schedules to minimize disruption to member play.
• Maintain accurate records of chemical applications and water usage.
• Collaborate with club leadership on long-term planning and course enhancements.
Requirements:
Degree or Certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Golf Course Superintendent or 1st Assistant Superintendent.
Demonstrated expertise in turf care, equipment operations, and chemical/fertilizer application.
Strong leadership, personnel management, and organizational skills.
Valid driver’s license and Pesticide Applicator’s License (or ability to obtain).
GCSAA Certification preferred or in active pursuit.
Deep understanding of cool and warm season turfgrass management.
Knowledge of irrigation layout and water conservation techniques.
Familiarity with golf course equipment maintenance
Ability to adapt to changing weather, member needs, and operational challenges.
Commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
Compensation:
$75,000 – $95,000 per year.
